Zurich Orient Foundation

The Zurich Orient Foundation has since 2003 served as a bridge between the institutions of Zurich, Switzerland and the countries of the Middle East. Through innovative joint programs in the sciences and finance, the Foundation is both a project developer and a private network.

The Foundation is supported by the University of Zurich, the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), HBM Partners and the Canton of Zurich. The Foundation is also a partner institution in the Global Medical Forum Foundation network.

Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training

The Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) is the official host of the Summit.

CERT was established in 1996 to provide feefor- service programs to complement those offered through the Higher Colleges of Technology of the United Arab Emirates.

CERT provides a range of training, technology and applied research functions for the system and the country, through its technology parks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and its industrial partnerships throughout the UAE.

CERT continues to develop and initiate innovative new programs for delivery by the HCT. CERT is also continually working with its international partners to set up corporate university structures and consortia.

CERT and the Global Medical Forum Foundation are working together to further the development of high quality healthcare in the UAE and the region. CERT’s mandate to help the local General Authority for Health Services to train qualified personnel for the UAE health system has only furthered CERT’s growing presence in the healthcare field.

CERT has an extensive network of relationships with multinational organizations in academia and industry, to offer innovative technology and business solutions to clients throughout the Region.

Many of these relationships have resulted in joint-venture spin-off companies, offering a broad range of product and solutions offerings in advanced technologies and business practices, many of which are not widely available in the region.

Through all this vast network of strategic alliances and joint venture operations, CERT offers solutions that suit a wide spectrum of training, education and business challenges.
